CD Sunday - Chocolate, Cream and One Other

My One Other colour is blue and I designed my 6 by 6 card in Craft Artist using a digi kit from Booland "Blossom Pam". My CD element is my sentiment from Debbie Moore.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. Any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Alpha tags - F is for Feathers

F is for Feathers. I used a resist stamp pad to stamp some feathers up the centre of the tag. The stamps are from a " Feathers stamp" plate from "Sunday International." I used Adirondak ink pads Denim, Pool, Bottle and Lettuce to cover the tag and then over stamped the feathers using these same ink pads.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Norway

As I was researching I came across a page with a cut out paper doll and a set of national costumes for Norway. That was decision made. I loved these cut out dolls as a child and spent hours cutting out and dressing them. I have dressed her in one of the costumes and the rest are in the pocket of my page. She is standing in front of the flag which has been distressed a bit. The page is a view of "Cold Mountain" at Dusk and the fish is one of the King Cod that come to spawn in Lake Lofoton. The pocket is one of the many beautiful fiords.
Thank you all for the kind comments you have made during this challenge and for taking the time to come and look at my postcards. This challenge is such fun, thank you Darcy.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 202 - On The Street Where You Live

My daughter has just moved house and this is her house warming card. Her street is not quite as cute as this but I think she will like it. The stamps are from Polka Doodles and are coloured with Promarkers. I added the leaves from a decoupage sheet.
Thank you for coming to visit, any comments you leave are much appreciated..

Alpha tag - E is for Egypt

My E is Egypt. I used vellum from Kameo cards and stamped Tutankhamen with" Flitter Glu" and added gilding. Egypt is stamped on a piece of Papyrus that John brought me from  work visit to Egypt. It is all mounted on a tag distressed with Bundled Sage distress stain.

Hybrid Scrapbook pages.

These are two 12 by 12 pages that started as 8 by 8 pages in Craft Artist. I printed them out and used papers from my stash to complete them. The top one is my allotment awaiting planting, it is still waiting, impossible to work it in this rain. I used embellishments that I printed from CA and embossed and distressed. The second page is grandson Finn in Canada on a trip to the zoo on our last visit. I turned the tiger photo into a backing paper. The rest is from stash.
Did enjoy this way of working for a change.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Romania

Reading about Romania I was fascinated with the stories of the white storks, the origin of the baby bringing stork stories. There is a big project underway to save them as lots are being killed because they are nesting atop of electricity pylons and then getting electrocuted. I found a picture of them and played about with it in Serif's Photolab before printing it and added some colour with Promarkers.
My page background is some of the earliest Romanian writing with the shield of Romania and a picture shaped like a map of the country showing some of the sites. The pocket shows the beautiful Romanian red peony, actually a first day cover when they made a stamp showing the peony.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 114 - The Secret Garden

I utilised the shapers and movers tag die to cut an opening in a tag cut from Anna Griffin flowered paper. On another tag I stamped the round door from Lavinia Stamps. The two tags were layered using foam pads. I then added and decoupaged some flowers and a butterfly and added a key. I would love such a colourful secret garden.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 201 - St George's Day

I decided on a beautiful English Rose for my card to celebrate St. Georges Day. It is decoupaged and mounted on a card from a TSV from QVC many years ago. I was so pleased when I opened the box that has been hidden away on a shelf in my craft room. This is my Au Revoir as a Design Team member for Rainbow Lady's as time is rather limited at the moment. I have very much enjoyed working with this talented team of crafters and I hope to join in some of the challenges in the future.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #63 - It's a Man Thing

For my square card I used Crafty Ann's gorgeous Rhapsody in Blue digikit. The colours are so vivid, just lovely. I designed the card in Serif's Craft Artist and to Ann's papers, cogs and ribbon corner I added a bit of machinery and the bird, which I changed to blue to match the ribbon, and a sentiment from Serif Steampunk CDs. Do join us at Crafty Ann's Challenge blog.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

I was really taken with this statue and had to find out who he was. He was called Thorfinn Karlsefni and he was an explorer. I have set a picture of his statue against a backdrop of the Northern Lights and invented a shield for him. The shield is made from embossed metal and I added some colour with alcohol inks. My page is made up of a recent photo of volcanic activity on the island and a page from an old manuscript telling one of the many Icelandic sagas. Thanks for stopping by, you are so kind with your comments.

There are celebrations at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog this week as Cynthia reaches her 200th challenge. I do hope you will join in and help us celebrate. On Our Travels With Darcy's Post card Challenge - Singapore

This weeks inspiration comes from an exhibition at the Peranakan Museum in Singapore. There are some beautiful clothes and textiles on display and I copied a piece of material from the brochure cover and coloured it with Promarkers. The brochure is on my book page along with a street scene from the Koon Seng Road. Just loved the colours of the houses.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 113 - Angels and Demons

When I was thinking about demons and where they lurk for different people I thought about cameras and societies where the people feared the camera as they thought it stole the soul. So my background is a picture of camera lens which I partially painted with white Gouache. I then stamped on that using Stazon and the stamp is "Faith" from Rubber Stampede. I added a wing and dove and a small angel charm. Thanks for stopping by to look, the comments you leave are much appreciated.
